Near the war's end the Allied prisoners seized control of their camp and Greenings invaluable watercolors, sketches, logbook and other items were sagely brought out by Doolittle's B-17s. Greening created and directed a national touring POW exposition. Died unexpectedly at age 43, after an eventful and fulfilling life. Marked "First Printing" on publisher's page.

Stock Description

WSU art graduate Ross Greening painted and wrote a one-of-a-kind record of action in WWII. He piloted a B-25 in the Doolittle Raid, was shot down over Italy, escaped from a POW train, hid out in the mountains of northern Italy, and ended up in a German stalag. His remembrances, as well as his fine artwork illustrating the events of this era, make compelling reading.
